Background:

Belonging to the IT series of the ED-IT DJ collaboration crew, these wild eyed guys are fresh from the factory floor. Once taken out of production (by humans) due to how intense and hyperactive they could be, they were reactivated after the passing of the 2068 Law of Awareness.

The Z9900_k series primarily work at Accex Systems creating drum machines, and can sometimes be found on the stage before a ED-IT DJ production working as a ‘hype crew’.

Nothing lasts forever, so when the ED-IT team need a bit of a refresh, they order new parts from ACCEX Industries Ltd, and send their old used parts back to the refurbishment centre.

The Generic Art dudes are planning to showcase all of the designs they have had back (over 40 I am told so far) at a gallery in the near future, and I hear they may also have some at Toycon starting the 6th April.

Background:

The core ED-IT DJ’s would struggle to put on a show without their trusty friends the B6400 series. Once confined to audio management of human concerts and internet broadcasts, these bots joined the ED-IT team and have put their skills to good use. From the very initial concept of a new show, through the to the final beat produced, B6400 are watching and tweaking via their expansive plethora of equipment.

They work closely with partner company Accex to develop new machines and push boundaries.

They are also partial to a good cheese burger.

Before the 2068 ‘Law of Awareness’ which granted all non human creations the same right as humans themselves, you would

have been seen these C1200 bots scuttling around your nearest Spaceport on their low friction (but high torque) wheelbase. They were the backbone of the stellar travel industry, as they moved large shipments from the loading zones into the gargantuan space freighters.

For their size they are super strong, acknowledged to be capable of lifting 4000 times their own weight, they are not be trifled with when it comes to moving items, large or small.

Post 2068 many of these mighty bots joined the ED-IT DJ crew as roadies and venue organisers, and can be found before and after any performance dismantling and loading the huge structures or equipment which they are in charge of.

Known to like a party, they can often be found at the local Karaoke spot, getting fresh after a gig.

The Fiction:

When performing, the ED-IT DJ’s have a very strong team around them. Formed of primarily colleagues from the factory days, they have an eclectic mix of skills and will always work their hardest.

At the core of the visually intense, atmospheric and personal shows that the ED-IT DJ’s put on, the B56002LC (2 Light Crew) brothers are often seen fiddling around behind a flashing panel of intensity.

Specialists in light engineering and tertiary reverse segmention, their outer casings are carved directly from an experimental hyper fluorescent engagement material. This specialist component has wireless fibre links to the soundboard which causes them to pulsate and glow in time to the music. It’s a sight to be seen.

This B5600sec1 release is a limited edition of 1.

The Fiction:

When performing, the ED-IT DJ’s have a very strong team around them. Formed of primarily colleagues from the factory days, they have an eclectic mix of skills and will always work their hardest.

B5600sec1 is in charge of security and it’s not hard to tell why. His head unit has four visual sensors which enable a full 360 ‘double’ degree view at all times, whilst being packed with state of the art ‘BlueZoom’ technology that allow a for massive resolutions and amazing clarity. He is also very agile, and can often be seen scurrying throughout the nearest gantry to get the optimum view to protect his team.

His exterior casing is super toughened, which affords him extra protection when any rogue droids have to be ejected from a show. He often carries a few scuffs and scars on his person, but it’s all part of the job for our B5600sec1. He really is one bad ass.

The Fiction:

Back in the summer of 2068, the ED-IT DJ’s performed a legendary night at the ‘Yes More’ club in deepest Okinawa with a crowd of over five thousand in attendance. B5100 was running a new firmware which caused an unknown blue colouring update to his outer housing, which he decided to keep for the entirety of his set. This BJ100Jx release is to remember that night as one of the pioneering events in the revolution of non human created electronic music.

Tesselate is proud to announce that he has won the licence to produce official limited edition ED-IT merchandise. After many meetings and lengthy discussions with the group, we have big plans going forward.

ED-IT are a group of technology based DJ’s who have grown into a large force within the underground music scene. Ever since the 2068 ‘Law of Awareness’ which granted all non human creations the same right as humans themselves, the group has gained a following and have rapidly taken their performances worldwide.

Based in the UK, Toyko & Berlin, they have a residency at their underground clubs ‘Ready Place’, where they play at least once a month. All of the machines they use to create their music and also play music live, they have custom built.These devices will soon be available under the ‘Accex’ business branch.

B5100 is one of the joint founders of the ED-IT group. Before the awareness law was passed, he was working on governmental architectural projects as an electrical maintenance droid, and then DJ’d in his off time in the then illegal ‘fully auto’ underground club nights.

The ED-IT DJ’s are currently working on a new record label under the monicker ‘Lolopext Recording’, so make sure to keep an ear out for that.

B5100 stands at 16.5cm / 6.6″ tall and will be up for grabs on the Tesselate shop at 8pm (GMT) on Thursday the 29th of November for £70 + p&p. Take a look here
